About Lyrica Pianos

THE LYRICA STORY

The Lyrica piano was created in partnership by the two largest and most respected piano retailers in America. Over the past 100 years, our two companies have won every top award for excellence in the music industry. We are committed to the finest in selection, value, expert advice, service and 100% customer satisfaction! The factory-direct purchasing strength of this partnership allows for the extra design features and quality of materials otherwise impossible at these prices.

Quality Without Compromise

Designed with specifications, added features, and attention to detail unparalleled by any other piano in this price category. In the Lyrica piano factory, there are more than 250 engineers and technicians that are focused on machine design and equipment management with separate divisions dedicated to product design and technology. And the resulting success of how our Lyrica pianos play and sound has been spectacular on every level.

Finest Woods From Forest To Finished Cabinets

Experts contend that the key to a quality piano rests with the selection and processing of quality woods. The Lyrica piano factory has access to vast Chinese forest reserves where Manchurian Walnut and other hardwoods vital to the construction of fine pianos can be harvested and processed. The Lyrica piano factory has constructed a state-of-the-art sawmill and lumberyard that takes raw lumber and transforms it into perfectly cured and crafted piano components.

ISO Certified For Quality, Efficiency And Environmental Standards

And despite the tremendous growth in efficiency and production, the Lyrica piano factory maintains the highest quality standards. In 1998 the company was awarded the International Standards Organization ISO 9001 Certification for its complete line of grand and vertical pianos, including all parts and components. In July of 2007, the Lyrica Piano factory was also awarded ISO 14001, which certifies compliance with international environment standards. Both ISO certifications are awarded by an independent auditing organization following a lengthy audit of quality systems ranging from the procurement of raw materials to manufacturing systems, assembly procedures, and customer service.

Double (simultaneous) 10 Year Warranty

A double 10 year warranty means that you have double the warranty protection during the 10 year warranty period. Backed by both the factory and Schmitt Music Company, these warranties insure that in the unlikely event that there is a warranty issue you can be assured that your piano will be serviced to your satisfaction.

Lyrica Pianos Invite Comparison

We welcome all comers. When you compare the essentials of design, materials and craftsmanship, consider how these factors relate to touch, tone, tuning stability, beauty, and durability, and finally weigh all that against price, there is no competition for Lyrica Pianos.

KEYS TO LYRICA PERFORMANCE

Finish

The Lyrica piano factory has invested more than $4 million in Italian fine-furniture finishing equipment. Every cabinet is polished to a smooth, deep, consistent finish through a process that includes a resin base coat applied prior to the finish. When you carefully examine interior components of the Lyrica piano, you will discover all sides of the bottom and side panels have been finished. Lyrica pianos use no plastic case parts in the construction of their economically priced, yet full-featured pianos.

Omni-directional, All Spruce Soundboards

The soundboards on all Lyrica pianos are made of Siberian Hybrid vertical-grain spruce with paper-thin epidermal surface to prevent cracking. Due to this epidermal surface of spruce, spruce construction throughout, the thicker center core of spruce and the 30 degree offset of the epidermal grain, vibrations are free to penetrate through the soundboard producing the rich, warm tones associated with Europe and America's finest quality pianos. The process assures a soundboard that resists cracks while maintaining beautiful tone throughout the life of the piano.

Hammers

Lyrica piano hammers are made of premium-quality, stapled, virgin wool hammerfelt. Using 18 pound outer felt and 12 pound under felt weight depending on the scale design, the Lyrica hammer is designed to give every level of pianist a full range of expression and still maintain its durability and long life.

Piano Action

The Lyrica piano factory produces all of the piano actions for Lyrica pianos. Our piano factory uses tried and true state-of-the-art materials in the construction of all piano actions.

Sand Cast Plates

Lyrica pianos have sand cast plates that are heavier and, in fact, have a different molecular structure than piano plates utilizing vacuum processing. The Lyrica process uses a natural cooling/aging process that dissipates the heat slowly, allows for complete curing and requires a more labor-intensive finishing process. Because Lyrica plates are heavier and almost acoustically dead by comparison, they allow for the pure rich tone associated with expensive European and American pianos rather than the unwanted overtones that are created by vacuum-processed plates. In addition, the Lyrica piano has a unique and beautiful plate color that enhances the overall appearance of our classic designs.

Keys & Key Bed

The keysticks on all Lyrica pianos are constructed of solid spruce, which eliminates sticking, enhances strength, and promotes long-lasting durability. The key bed is built of Euro-designed butcher-block construction providing strength, stability and long life. Lyrica key beds have no plastic or Styrofoam components.

German Roslau Piano Wire with Hand-wound Copper Bass Strings

Roslau music wire is used in all Lyrica pianos and is the same premium quality music wire found in the finest European and American pianos. It is the appropriate gauge to accompany the lower-tension scales employed by Lyrica. Solid copper wire is used to wrap Lyrica's bass strings to provide a beautiful bass tone. These string features allow the Lyrica piano to deliver a consistent full, rich tone quality which until now was only available on far more expensive European and American pianos.
